Naturopath in Canberra
Individualised naturopathic care that considers the whole person — body, mind, lifestyle and lived experience.
Naturopathy offers a holistic approach to wellbeing, taking time to understand your individual health history, your current concerns and the wider context of your life.
As a naturopath and herbalist, I draw on nutrition, Western herbal medicine, lifestyle approaches and other naturopathic principles to create an individualised approach for each person.
My practice is not about following a one-size-fits-all plan. It is about listening carefully, asking questions, looking at the bigger picture and considering what may best support you at this point in your life.
I offer naturopathic consultations online and in person in Griffith, Canberra's Inner South.
What does naturopathy involve?
Naturopathy is an individualised approach to health and wellbeing that considers many factors that can influence how you feel and function.
Rather than looking at one aspect of your health in isolation, I take time to understand your broader life — including your health history, nutrition, lifestyle, stress, sleep, digestion, energy and other aspects that may be relevant to you.
Together, we can explore what is happening for you and consider practical ways of supporting your wellbeing.
Depending on your individual needs and circumstances, this may include nutritional guidance, Western herbal medicine, lifestyle approaches, nutritional supplementation and other naturopathic approaches.
What can we explore together?
People seek naturopathic support for many different reasons.
You may be looking for support with:
-
stress and feeling overwhelmed
-
tiredness and changes in energy
-
digestive wellbeing
-
nutritional needs and everyday nourishment
-
women's wellbeing and changing hormonal needs
-
sleep and rest
-
feeling tired, run down or depleted
-
supporting your wellbeing during periods of change
-
understanding the connections between different aspects of your health
-
creating sustainable health and lifestyle practices that feel realistic for your life
Your concerns don't have to fit neatly into one category.
Our consultation begins with your individual experience and what matters to you.
A naturopathic approach that considers the whole person
My work as a naturopath has developed over more than two decades of working with people and exploring different ways of understanding health and wellbeing.
Alongside my naturopathic and herbal medicine training, I have undertaken extensive further study in mind-body approaches, including Somatic Experiencing® and the Biology of Trauma®.
This has shaped the way I work. I don't see the physical and emotional aspects of our experience as entirely separate. I am interested in the relationship between them, while also recognising that every person is different.
Your consultation is a space to slow things down, look at the bigger picture and consider what may be useful for you — with care, curiosity and respect for your individual experience.
What to expect in a naturopathic consultation
Your first consultation is an opportunity to talk about what has brought you in and to look at your health and wellbeing in the context of your whole life.
We'll take time to explore your health history, current concerns, nutrition, lifestyle and other relevant factors.
Depending on what you bring to the consultation, we may discuss areas such as:
Nutrition
Exploring your current diet and considering practical nutritional approaches that suit your individual circumstances.
Herbal medicine
Where appropriate, Western herbal medicine may form part of your individualised care.
Lifestyle
Looking at everyday habits, routines, rest, movement and other aspects of life that may be relevant to your wellbeing.
Naturopathic assessment
Where appropriate, further assessment or testing may be discussed to help inform your care.
The emphasis is on understanding your individual picture rather than applying the same approach to everyone.

Herbal medicine
Plants have been part of naturopathic medicine for generations, and herbal medicine remains an important part of the way I work.
When appropriate, I may consider individual herbs or herbal combinations alongside nutrition and lifestyle approaches, taking into account your health history, circumstances and other factors relevant to your care.
For me, herbal medicine is not simply about choosing a plant for a symptom. It is part of the process of getting to know you and considering what may have a place within your particular circumstances.
